On the night of September 14, a fire and explosion ripped through a small shed‑like house in Chavat Galli (Dhor Galli) during Ganeshotsav, killing six members of the Dhamone family. Initial reports linked the blaze to a refrigerator blast, but newly reviewed CCTV from a nearby home shows an unidentified person approaching the house with a bucket and leaving a few minutes later, prompting fresh police inquiries.
The deceased have been identified as Sharada Gajanan Dhamone, Bharati Rajaram Dhamone, Priya Gajanan Dhamone and Ganga Gajanan Dhamone, who perished at the scene, and Gajanan Rajaram Dhamone and Roshan Gajanan Dhamone, who later died despite medical care.
A case was lodged at Market Police Station, and investigators are examining the fire and explosion details, including the unknown visitor captured on CCTV, the bucket’s contents and the motive behind the approach minutes before the blast, which could prove pivotal to the ongoing inquiry.
