A man has been arrested in Goa for killing a dog by dragging it behind his two-wheeler for several kilometers, according to officials on Friday. The accused, Ashok Panhalkar, a resident of Khorlim, Mapusa, and originally from Belgaum, Karnataka, has been charged under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, as reported by PTI.
Police acted after a video of the incident went viral on social media. Officials explained that on the afternoon of September 4, Panhalkar tied the dog to his motorcycle, dragging it a considerable distance and causing its death, before dumping the body by the roadside.
