In a tragic incident reported from Hukkeri town, a small hotel owner allegedly took his own life after being pushed into severe financial hardship. The case sheds light on the difficulties faced by small entrepreneurs, especially when access to essential resources is disrupted. The deceased, Rama Halluri, was reportedly dealing with mounting debts and a sudden halt in business operations.
Hotel Closed Due to Gas Shortage
Rama Halluri operated ‘Hanuman Hotel’ near the old bus stand in Hukkeri. The hotel had remained shut for several days as he was unable to obtain commercial gas cylinders, bringing his business to a complete standstill and cutting off his only source of livelihood.
Rising Debt and Financial Strain
With no income from the hotel, Halluri struggled to meet his financial obligations. Interest on loans continued to rise, worsening his situation. Unable to handle the growing debt and alleged pressure from lenders, he reportedly took the extreme step towards the end of March.
