On Monday night, a two-wheeler collided with a transport bus on Dharwad Road at the Belagavi outskirts near Savadatti, killing three bike riders instantly. The victims included local residents Vinay Jogennavar and Akash Jadhav, while the third rider’s identity remains unknown. Police are investigating the exact cause.
The bus was returning from Basavakalyan to Hubballi when it struck the two-wheeler, which was thrown down after the impact. Police arrived at the scene, conducted an inspection, arranged for the bodies to be taken to a hospital and are working to locate the families of the deceased.
Witnesses reported that vegetables were strewn across the road following the crash.
