Twelve students from the Morarji Desai residential school in Hirekodi village near Chikkodi, Belagavi district, were hospitalised on November 3 following a suspected case of food poisoning.
Ten girls and two boys were taken to the hospital after complaining of nausea, stomach pain, and vomiting. Officials said all of them are currently stable and recovering.
Several parents accused the school staff of negligence. “This is the second instance of food poisoning at this school within a month. If this continues, we will have no choice but to withdraw our children,” said Madiwalappa, a concerned parent.
