The Belagavi district administration has announced a 48-hour liquor ban across the district in view of the Karnataka Rajyotsava 2025 celebrations.
According to the official order, the sale, purchase, and consumption of liquor in any form will be prohibited from 12:00 a.m. on October 31 (Friday) to 11:59 p.m. on November 1 (Saturday), 2025.
The restriction covers all bars, clubs, hotels, lodges, restaurants, and liquor retail outlets licensed under the Karnataka Excise Act, 1965. During this period, liquor cannot be sold, served, or consumed in any public or private establishment within Belagavi district limits.
Issued under Sections 21(1) and 21(2) of the Karnataka Excise Act, the order aims to ensure peace, safety, and law and order during the statehood day celebrations.
Authorities have warned that violations will invite strict legal action under the Excise Act and the Indian Penal Code. Enforcement teams have been directed to monitor the situation and maintain a liquor-free environment throughout the festive period.
The district administration has urged residents to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava responsibly and uphold the spirit of unity and harmony that the day represents.
