The Hindalaga police in Belagavi city have re-arrested a prisoner who escaped after claiming he was going to the bathroom. The accused, Anil Lambugol from Manjari village in Chikkodi taluk, had been sentenced to 20 years in a POCSO case and was admitted to Belagavi’s BIMS Hospital for treatment.
Around 8:35 a.m., Anil managed to slip away under the pretext of using the bathroom. He was later caught near the Belagavi court premises in the evening.
It was later found that Anil had been hiding inside BIMS Hospital throughout the day and had planned to flee around 6 p.m. However, police intercepted and arrested him near the court premises before he could execute his escape plan.
