Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) members are set to visit Indore after Diwali for a study tour aimed at understanding the cleanliness model that has kept Indore at the top of India’s Swachh Survekshan rankings for several years.
The delegation will examine the systems and practices adopted by the Indore Municipal Corporation that helped it maintain its clean city status for nearly eight consecutive years. The visit, organised under the Swachh Bharat Mission, is estimated to cost around ₹60 lakh.
The tour will begin on October 26. Earlier this year, BCC members had undertaken a similar study visit to Chandigarh in January. Notably, the BCC’s health standing committee had visited Indore last year, while members of the Karwar City Municipal Corporation conducted their study tour there just last month.
