The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department has executed the mandatory transfer process of Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) in Khanapur taluk. A total of eleven PDOs have been shifted, seven within the taluk and four to other districts.
Transfers within the taluk include: Balaraja Bhajantri (Gandigawad to Nagargali), Veeresh Sajjan (Parwad to Itagi), Jyotiba Kamakar (Garlagunji to Shindholli), Sunil Ambare (Kanakumbi to Parwad), Preeti Pattara (Gunji to Nerase), M.M. Mokhashi (Amate to Ramaguruvadi), and Sanjeev Uppin (Ramaguruvadi to Shiroli).
Under the quota for disabled, special, and ill PDOs, Abhijit (Thopinakatti) has been transferred to Hassan district, Sridevi (Jamboti) to Bengaluru Rural, and Sugurappa (Keravada) to Raichur. Under the general quota, S.M. Bongale (Kakkeri) has been shifted to Uttara Kannada.
Following these transfers, 25 gram panchayats in Khanapur taluk are currently without PDOs. Department sources said the upcoming state-level counseling, scheduled till September 22, is expected to fill most of these vacancies.
