Swift action by Belagavi Police helped trace two children who had gone missing in a crowd and reunite them with their families within hours.
Ten-year-old Anmol Pariyar and his eight-year-old cousin Karthik Pariyar had left their Angol home to watch the Ganesh idol procession in Shivashakti Nagar.
When they failed to return even after five hours, their parents approached the police. Acting on a lead provided by a Home Guard and 12-year-old Chetan Komannanavar, the police located the boys, who had wandered to Mandoli Road and lost their way.
Police Commissioner Borase Bhushan Gulabrao expressed gratitude to both Chetan and the Home Guard for their timely assistance.
