Belgaum Camp Police have taken into custody a couple accused of stealing gold ornaments from their employer’s house. Police recovered 877.4 grams of gold jewelry valued at ₹85 lakh from them.
The arrested duo, identified as Annapurna Belagundakar and her husband Jyotiba from Ganeshpur, had been working at the residence of Ramesh Redekar in Laxme Nagar for several years. Taking advantage of Redekar’s absence, they allegedly decamped with 981.1 grams of gold ornaments. Following Redekar’s complaint on August 2, police investigated, questioned the suspects, and secured a confession. The stolen ornaments were seized, and the couple was remanded to judicial custody.
