Zilla Panchayat CEO Rahul Shinde conducted a field visit to various locations in Khanapur taluk, Belagavi, on Tuesday to assess the rain and flood situation.
During his visit, he inspected Iddalahonda Government Higher Primary School, checking on infrastructure, staff availability, and student attendance. At the Halatri stream bridge on the Khanapur-Goa route, he assessed the flood impact and received updates from officials. He directed forest department personnel to clear tree branches lodged in the water near the bridge.
The CEO also visited the Londa Gram Panchayat office to review the status of ongoing projects. He interacted with residents of Gandhinagar in Londa GP, which is experiencing submergence due to overflow from the Pandari River, and assessed the situation. Officials briefed him on the flood control measures that had been implemented so far.
At the Government Higher Primary School in Londa, he inspected the school building and attendance records, and instructed the GP development officer to ensure all classrooms have power backup using charging bulbs or solar systems to counter power outages. He concluded the visit by inspecting the local primary health centre, reviewing staff attendance and overall functioning.
