Forest Range Officer Kiran Kumar revealed that eight individuals were arrested on the 19th of this month in connection with the hunting and sale of wild alugus within the Khanapur forest range. Addressing a press conference at his office on Friday night, he stated that based on the received intelligence, the department launched an investigation into illegal poaching activities in the region.
The probe led to the arrest of eight suspects and the seizure of a vehicle used in the operation. The accused reportedly hail from Nirmal, Jagtial, Nizamabad, and Hyderabad districts. Efforts are ongoing to identify all involved. Kiran Kumar added that the accused will be presented before the media shortly. Section Officer Ravinder and other staff members were also present at the briefing.
