Avaradi village in Mudalagi taluk witnessed tragedy on Tuesday night, June 3, as an overjoyed RCB supporter died of a heart attack while celebrating the team’s win.
Manjunatha Eerappa Kambara (28), a passionate fan of Royal Challengers Bangalore, had set up a large LED screen to watch the final match against Punjab. For four days leading up to the event, he had been busy preparing, reportedly skipping meals and rest. He had even arranged crackers and fireworks for the celebration.
Manjunatha and other youth from the village, who called themselves the ‘Avaradi Warriors’, were in high spirits after the match. Amid the celebrations, Manjunatha collapsed and died while dancing.
He is survived by his wife, who is currently pregnant, and a six-month-old daughter. His father, Eerappa, is a farmer.
