A plastic goods store in the Raviwar Peth area caught fire in the early hours of Friday, resulting in significant damage.
The blaze broke out around 3:30 am on May 30. Although the fire department responded quickly, the flames had already consumed the entire shop before being brought under control.
The shop, owned by Prithvi Nalwadi, is situated in the Kanda (Ullagaddi) Market area. The firefighting effort involved two fire engines and more than 15 personnel.
Authorities suspect an electrical short circuit as the probable cause of the fire, but other possibilities are also being examined. Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
