In a tragic incident from Navalihal village in Chikkodi taluk, a 24-year-old woman ended her life just a day before her wedding after allegedly learning that the groom’s mother was visually impaired.
The deceased, Shruti Burad, was set to marry a man from Belagavi on May 25. However, on the eve of the ceremony, she reportedly jumped into a well, ending her life. The incident occurred on the day of her Arishina (pre-wedding turmeric) ceremony and came to light later in the day.
The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Khadakalat police station, which is currently investigating the matter.
