Belagavi Lok Sabha MP Jagadish Shettar chaired a review meeting on Tuesday to assess the progress of key Central Government infrastructure projects across Belagavi district. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan and senior officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), South Western Railway, and Civil Aviation departments.
During the session, Mr. Shettar directed authorities to expedite the land acquisition process for multiple projects. Special emphasis was placed on the Honaga–Jadashahapur road stretch and the 9-km Halaga–Mache segment, urging departments to complete acquisition and construction on time. He also reviewed the status of the 43-km Belagavi (Shegunamatti)–Hungund–Raichur road and called for swift initiation of work post-acquisition.
The MP discussed the proposed flyover near Hotel Sankam in Belagavi city, stressing the importance of uninterrupted construction once work begins to ensure timely public utility.
In addition, discussions were held on the proposed Belagavi–Kittur–Dharwad railway line, which requires approximately 1,200 acres of land. Mr. Shettar instructed officials to ensure prompt compensation disbursal to affected farmers to prevent delays.
Key attendees included National Highways Project Director Bhuvanesh Kumar, Sambra Airport Director S. Thyagarajan, Land Acquisition Officers S. Chauhan and Rajashree Jainapur, and South Western Railway Engineer M. Nissamuddin.
