The long-awaited Sattigeri Eta Irrigation Project, a decades-old dream of local farmers and residents, has been completed on time, announced District In-charge Minister Satish Jarakiholi.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held in Sattigeri village of Yaragatti taluk, the Minister stated that the Congress government took the initiative to implement this significant project aimed at supporting rain-fed agricultural lands. The scheme will irrigate approximately 6,878 hectares across 11 villages in Yaragatti taluk, utilizing 1 TMC of water from the Taprabha River at Talakatanala village in Gokaka taluk, specifically for monsoon crops. He added that future plans include expanding irrigation facilities to cover all villages in the taluk.
MLA Vishwas Vaidya highlighted that the demand for this project had persisted for over 20 years, but its realization became possible only under the Congress government.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries including Bhagojikoppa Dr. Shivlinga Mururajendra Swamiji, Chandrasekhara Shivacharya Swamiji of Sattigeri, Revanna Siddeshwara Sharan of Korakoppa, MLA Babasaheb Patil of Kittur, Tehsildar M.V. Gundappagola, Irrigation Superintendent Abhiyantha Mahaveera Gani, Executive Engineer Rurama S., KMF Director Shankar Itnala, APMC President Neelakanta Siddhabasavara, Ravindra Yaligara, Savadatti APMC President Chandru Pujera, Umesh Bali, Bangarappa Harali, and Prakash Vali.
