A man from Belagavi has been abducted, and the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore. The victim, Basavaraja Nilappa Ambi (48), hailing from Rajapur village in Mudalagi taluk, was kidnapped, and his wife, Shobha Basavaraja Ambi, is threatened by the abductors. The kidnappers warned that Basavaraja would only be released if the ransom is paid.
When some individuals, including Basavaraja’s son, attempted to deliver a portion of the ransom, the kidnappers, observing from a distance, instructed that only one person should come to hand over the money. Alarmed, Shobha reported the incident to the Ghataprabha police.
The police have escalated their investigation, focusing on tracking the kidnappers through their mobile phone calls.
