A farmer in Kallehola village, Khanapur taluk, had a narrow escape when he encountered a leopard on Sunday night. Parashuram Patil was on his farm with a torch when he came across the leopard resting in the grass.
The animal refrained from attacking, possibly due to the light from the torch. Patil even captured a brief video of the leopard. The sighting has raised concerns among the local residents, who are now urging the Forest Department to relocate the leopard as soon as possible.
In case of a leopard sighting, experts advise maintaining a safe distance and not approaching the animal. It is crucial to stay calm and avoid running, as sudden movements may provoke the leopard. If possible, make yourself appear larger by raising your arms or using an object like a stick. In situations where the leopard is too close, back away slowly without turning your back on it. Avoid eye contact, as it can be perceived as a threat. Alert the authorities immediately and keep others in the area informed to ensure everyone’s safety.
