The Karnataka Congress meeting, chaired by national general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, saw heated exchanges over insufficient contributions toward constructing a party building in Belagavi.
Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi stood out by committing ₹1 crore to the project, while other leaders reportedly fell short of expectations. The meeting also addressed preparations for the ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan’ event scheduled for January, commemorating the 1924 Congress session led by Mahatma Gandhi.
Earlier, concerns over inadequate contributions were raised during a Legislative Party meeting, which included proposals to establish 100 Congress Bhavans across Karnataka. Jarkiholi’s criticism of local leaders during the meeting sparked controversy, with some interpreting it as a veiled remark directed at Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar.
