Belgaum has become the center of attention as over 500 bodybuilders from across the country gather for the national-level men’s and women’s bodybuilding competition, set to take place from January 14 to 16. The event is being organized by the Belgaum District Bodybuilding Association in collaboration with the Belgaum Sports Club, Rotary Club of Belgaum, and the Satish Jarkiholi Foundation, with a total prize pool of ₹25 lakh.
The registration and weigh-in for participants began on Tuesday morning at the Yoga Hall of Angadi College. Throughout the day, competitors from various states registered, marking the beginning of the much-anticipated event. Notable dignitaries, including Indian Bodybuilding Federation President Swami Ramesh Kumar, Secretary Hiral Set, Padma Shri and India’s first Mr. Universe Premchand Digra, and Arjuna Awardees T.V. Poly, Bhaskaran, Bobby Singh, and Navneet Singh, have also arrived for the competition. Additionally, 200 judges have reached Belgaum to oversee the event.
On Wednesday, participants from all weight categories will undergo evaluation. The final competition, including both the men’s and women’s events, will take place on Thursday. The winner of the title will be awarded ₹3 lakh, while the runner-up will receive ₹1 lakh, and the best poser will take home ₹25,000. The top five in each weight category will also be awarded ₹50,000, ₹40,000, ₹30,000, ₹25,000, and ₹20,000, respectively.
