According to multiple sources, a brief verbal clash occurred during the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting after Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar made remarks about Belagavi.
Shivakumar reportedly emphasized the need for ministers to take the lead in constructing new party offices in various districts, citing Woman and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar’s efforts in establishing a new party office in Belagavi as an example.
Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi, who oversees Belagavi, is said to have objected, pointing out that neither he nor other local leaders contributed to the office.
His sharp response is also believed to stem from dissatisfaction over being “sidelined” by Shivakumar during the CWC meeting in Belagavi last month.
