Gunshots were heard in Belgaum early this morning as unidentified individuals attempted to assassinate rowdy sheeter, Praful Patil. The incident occurred near Ganeshpura while he was traveling in a car. A bullet struck the car window, injuring Praful with glass fragments. Preliminary investigations suggest old enmity as the motive.
Praful was heading home from Belagundi village when the attackers fired at his moving vehicle. He narrowly escaped serious harm as the bullet hit the car’s glass. However, glass shards caused injuries to his face and head. He has since been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Belgaum Rural Police Station. ACP Gangadhar the PI and their team visited the hospital to gather details.
Notably, Praful Patil was involved in a previous case on June 16, 2024, where he attacked and attempted to kill Raju Kadolkar in Belagundi. Following his arrest, Praful was declared a rowdy sheeter and evaded authorities for six months. Multiple cases have been registered against him, and it is suspected that today’s attack stems from lingering hostility.
