A Class 10 student from Government High School in Gokak was stabbed by three classmates on Thursday after an argument over carrying their school bags.
The victim, Pradeep Bandivaddar, reportedly refused to carry the bags of Ravi Chinnawa, Ashok Kankanwadi, and Siddhartha Mattikoppa, which angered them. The trio allegedly attacked him at Valmiki Stadium, leaving him with injuries to his hands, neck, and stomach.
Bystanders and friends alerted the police and rushed Pradeep to the Government Taluk Hospital. He was later transferred to a private hospital in Gokak, where doctors reported that he remains seriously injured but in stable condition.
The accused students are currently absconding, and a case has been registered by the authorities.
