A 26-year-old man tragically drowned in the swimming pool of a private resort in Kanakumbi, near Khanapur in Belagavi district, Karnataka, on December 29.
The victim, identified as Mahantesh Gunjikar from Khasabag in Belagavi, had visited the resort with around 20 colleagues from a multinational consumer products company.
The group arrived at the resort on December 28, and the incident occurred the following day. After a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to his family.
Khanapur police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
