A woman and her son were abducted by four masked men in Vadagaon on Sunday. The assailants, who used a four-wheeler for the crime, robbed the woman of her mangal sutra and earrings before abandoning them in a deserted area on the city’s outskirts.
The victim, Gangavva Santosh Tapali, originally from Nelaganti in Gokak taluk and now residing in Vadagaon, complained to Shahapur police station.
In her statement, Gangavva revealed that she was walking towards Anand Nagar with her son Mallappa when a car stopped beside them. The masked men forced them into the vehicle, took her jewelry, and later released them in an isolated location.
Following the incident, Gangavva reported the matter to the police, who inspected the scene and registered an FIR against four unidentified individuals. Investigations are underway.
