Shourya, a 13-year-old tiger at the Kittur Rani Channamma Mini Zoo in Bhutaramanahatti, Belagavi taluk, passed away on Sunday due to multiple organ failure.
Zoo authorities revealed that Shourya had been battling severe infections caused by Mycoplasma, Cytauxzonosis, and Babesiosis. Despite 21 days of intensive treatment from wildlife veterinarians, he succumbed to the illness at 9:40 a.m. after not responding to the care provided.
Shourya had been transferred from Bannerghatta National Park to the Kittur Rani Channamma Mini Zoo in 2021.
