A gold merchant was robbed of ₹75 lakh and his car at gunpoint near Haragapur village in Hukkeri taluk, Belagavi district, on Friday. The incident occurred on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway.
Suraj Vanmane, the victim, was reportedly traveling to Kerala after concluding a business deal in Kolhapur when the robbers pursued him, intercepted his car, and forced him to hand over the cash before fleeing in his vehicle. The Sankeshwar Police have filed a case and are investigating the matter.
