An explosion occurred on train number 17325, the Vishwamanava Express, traveling from Belagavi to Mysuru, on Friday evening, causing panic among passengers.
The incident took place near Pandavapur Junction (close to Mysuru), where a loud blast was heard near the restroom of a coach, followed by a fire. Reacting swiftly, passengers pulled the emergency chain, and amid the commotion, a young man named Trinath managed to extinguish the flames. When the train stopped, frightened passengers scattered in different directions.
The explosion happened around 7:20 PM. Railway Police and a Dog Squad promptly arrived at the scene to investigate. While the exact cause is yet to be determined, initial indications point to a possible short circuit. The railway police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.
