Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar has raised serious concerns, alleging that “invisible hands” are intentionally stalling the extension of the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train service to Belagavi. His remarks have struck a chord with residents, echoing widespread suspicions that hidden forces are hindering the region’s development. While Shettar stopped short of naming those responsible, he warned that he might reveal their identities if the obstruction continues.
Shettar made these comments at the VK Belagavi Development Summit, organized by the Vijay Karnataka Kannada daily. He also attended an awards ceremony at the event, which honored achievements across various fields.
“The Vande Bharat extension was approved months ago, with all technical clearances in place. Yet, the service remains delayed despite my repeated efforts to push for action,” Shettar stated, reaffirming his commitment to resolving the issue.
The MP’s words have resonated deeply with locals, reinforcing long-held beliefs that invisible influences have slowed Belagavi’s progress. With Shettar’s declaration, public expectations are rising, waiting to see if he will disclose those behind the delays if the situation doesn’t improve.
