A farmer woman from Tavaga village in Gokak taluk, Belagavi district, has used the funds from the Gruha Lakshmi Yojana to buy a bull. Basavva and her husband Shivappa, a childless couple, raise bulls with the same care as children. The purchase has proven helpful for the couple, who rely on farming for their livelihood.
The Karnataka government deposits the Gruha Lakshmi scheme amount monthly into the house owner’s account. With the ₹22,000 received, the couple added a second bull to their farm, which previously had only one ox for agricultural work. Mahantesh Kadadi, President of the Gokak Taluk Guarantee Implementation Committee, visited Basavva’s home and offered personal support, recognizing the importance of the bulls to the couple’s farming needs.
