Police have launched an investigation after a woman’s family alleged that she was killed by robbers who looted a temple in Shindholi village, Belagavi district, on Thursday.
The body of Bharamakka Pujari was discovered in a well near the Masanavva Temple. According to her family, the robbers threw her into the well after she witnessed the theft.
Pujari had woken up early to clean her front yard and reportedly saw the robbery in progress. When she attempted to raise an alarm, the robbers allegedly killed her. A case has been registered.
