A clash erupted between two groups in Belagavi’s Rukmini Nagar following damage to electric lights installed for the Eid Milad festival. Four individuals, identified as Mohammad Kaif, Tanveer, Shahil Bhandari, and Abjan Hundekar, sustained serious injuries to their stomach, back, and chest during the altercation.
The dispute reportedly began when Mohammad Kaif and his friends accidentally damaged the lights put up by a group led by Sameer, by hitting them with a bike. Sameer’s group, including more than eight individuals, allegedly assaulted Kaif’s group with a talwar, demanding compensation for the damage.
The injured were admitted to the Belagavi District Hospital, where large crowds of friends and relatives gathered. Police later dispersed the crowd. The incident is being investigated by Malamaruti Police Station.
