Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, announced plans for the development of a new Med-tech-focused software park in Belgaum during the “Innoverge” event organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He emphasized that officials are currently identifying suitable land for the project, reaffirming the government’s commitment to promoting innovation in the region.
Additionally, the state government is seeking a Rs 5,000 crore loan to improve industrial infrastructure across Karnataka. This funding will be allocated toward developing new industrial zones and upgrading existing ones, with a focus on addressing water supply shortages in several areas. Discussions are underway with the finance department to address these issues, with Belgaum set to benefit from the planned infrastructure improvements.
