A woman, along with her mother, murdered her debt-ridden husband in Belgaum, a crime that was uncovered after a post-mortem report indicated unnatural causes of death. Renuka and her mother, Shobha, conspired to kill her husband, Vinayak Jadhav, a 48-year-old businessman from the Peeranwadi area. On July 29, they strangled him with a rope and smothered him with a pillow.
Jadhav, who had suffered business losses and was heavily in debt, had left Belgaum three years ago due to pressure from financiers. On the night of the murder, he returned home drunk and had an argument with his wife. It was during this altercation that Renuka and Shobha killed him, later placing his body outside the house.
The following day, they pretended Jadhav was merely drunk and sleeping. However, his brother Arun grew suspicious and filed a police complaint. The investigation revealed the mother-daughter duo’s involvement in the crime, and both have been arrested.
