Pradosh, an associate of actor Darshan and one of the suspects in the Renukaswamy murder case, was transferred to Hindalga Jail in Belgaum on Thursday. During his transfer, he requested to bring in his bag containing a blanket and medicine, which the prison authorities agreed to after consulting the resident doctor.
Jail Superintendent V. Krishna Murthy stated that Pradosh will be held in one of the 33 isolated cells, known as the Andheri Block, in the historic British-era prison. He will have limited contact with others and will be under constant surveillance. His family will be allowed visits according to jail regulations.
Hindalga Jail currently uses 2G mobile network jammers but plans to upgrade to 5G soon, with the contracting agency urged to expedite the process. The installation of CCTV cameras has been delayed by rain, and outside food, tobacco, and similar items are prohibited. All visitors, including officers, are thoroughly searched.
Another suspect, Vinay, was transferred to the Central Jail in Vijayapura, also known as Dargah Jail. This facility, which accommodates 436 inmates in 10 barracks and 15 high-security cells, was originally a traveler’s bungalow before being converted into a prison after Independence. Vinay was placed in one of the high-security cells.
