A large fire occurred at a factory in Belgaum, Karnataka named Sneham, which produces Cello tape. Workers were inside when the fire started, prompting them to evacuate. It’s uncertain if all workers safely exited. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene, and efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing.
One worker died, and three others suffered serious burns. The injured workers, named Maruti Karvekar (32), Yallappa Salgude (35), and Ranjit Patil (39), are receiving treatment at a private hospital.
Rescue operations were conducted by SDRF and fire brigade personnel due to concerns that a laborer was stuck in an elevator. After 17 hours of relentless effort, they located the body of Yallappa (18) in the lift. Formalities, including an FSL report, will follow for his body.
Local reports indicate that 60 to 70 workers are employed per shift. The cause of the fire remains unknown. Authorities stated they are prepared to manage any potential emergencies.
