Two days after a woman passed away from drinking contaminated water from a well in Kanasageri village of Gokak taluk, health authorities have launched an awareness campaign using loudspeakers and drum beats.
The authorities are recommending villagers to consume boiled and cooled water, practice regular handwashing, maintain cleanliness around their homes, avoid eating expired food or overripe fruits, and seek medical assistance promptly in case of vomiting or diarrhea.
On Sunday evening, approximately 10 individuals experienced symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea after consuming water from a village well. Unfortunately, Holevva Balappa Dhanadavar (38) passed away while being transported to the hospital.
After Congress leader Mahantesh Kadadi claimed that three fatalities occurred in the village, District Health Officer Dr. Mahesh Koni and a team of doctors visited the village on Monday. They also assessed the village’s water supply arrangements.
