Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar responded by suggesting that individuals accusing directors and producers of negligence should be sent to a mental health institution. Satish Jarkiholi, who remained silent, merely indicated that such outcomes were to be expected if the director and producer failed, in response to reporters’ inquiries regarding reactions to the Lok Sabha election results.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar disclosed that data and records have been obtained concerning the improper transfer of funds from corporations to alternate banks, even during the BJP government’s tenure. He indicated that a thorough examination will be conducted on this issue. Addressing a press briefing at the KPCC office, he relayed Secretary B. Nagendra’s clarification, affirming that Nagendra had no involvement in the unlawful fund diversion for the advancement of the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
However, they have tendered their resignation, expressing that no party should suffer from any embarrassment. No minister would have the audacity to misappropriate such a substantial amount of funds from corporations. Nonetheless, they have stepped down, stressing that their participation should not impede the inquiry and that no issues should arise for the party, as per Nagendra’s resignation.
During the BJP government’s term, there have been instances of funds from corporations being illicitly redirected to different banks. Additional inquiries, including those conducted by the Lokayukta, are ongoing regarding these allegations. Subsequently, the funds have been reclaimed from the banks. Former Minister Goolihatti Shekhar has also commented on this matter. We will thoroughly investigate all aspects and establish the truth. There is information suggesting the involvement of several BJP leaders in such activities. We will conduct comprehensive investigations,” stated DK Shivakumar.
