The Griha Lakshmi Yojana of the state government is highly advantageous for underprivileged girls, and the funds from the scheme have facilitated eye surgery for a needy woman. A woman from the village of Surebana-Manihal in the Ramadurga taluk has invested the Griha Lakshmi funds accumulated over the past 10 months to undergo eye surgery.
Sakubai Eeranna Karadina from the village of Manihal had been experiencing eye issues for several months. A cataract in her right eye necessitated surgery, but financial constraints had prevented her from seeking treatment. However, she recently utilized the funds accumulated from the Griha Lakshmi scheme of the state government, received over the past 10 months, to undergo the necessary eye surgery.
Dr. Vijay Sultanpur, hailing from Ramadurga, conducted surgery on the lady. Her spouse, Eranna Karadina, is employed as a weaver, and they have a family consisting of three children.
The Griha Lakshmi scheme proved to be a lifeline for our family, enabling my wife to undergo eye surgery. With a total cost of 26,000 rupees, we received 20,000 rupees through the scheme, making it easier for us to afford the treatment,” said Eranna Karadina, expressing his gratitude. He expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar for implementing the Griha Lakshmi Yojana.
