The grandparents of the child have accused the stepmother of murdering their granddaughter, but the woman denies the allegations. She claims that the child passed away at Belgaum Institute of Medical Sciences District Hospital on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Samruddhi Rayanna Navi (4), lived in Kangrali KH village in Belgaum taluk. Her grandfather, Sunil Hampannavar, accused her stepmother, Sapna, of murdering Samruddhi.
According to the police, Sapna provided documentation indicating that Samruddhi had been ill for the past few days, experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and epilepsy.
The deceased reportedly passed away while receiving treatment at the District Hospital. The deceased girl’s father, Rayanna, who works in CRPF, has verified his daughter’s health condition. A case will be registered based on the complaint filed by the father upon his arrival on Monday evening. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the APMC police station. Rayanna has also been accused of the murder of his first wife.
