The opening of the Belagavi Super Specialty Hospital, located on the BIMS campus, has been postponed due to technical issues, despite high expectations. Nonetheless, BIMS Director Ashok Kumar Shetty has provided reassurance that the hospital will be inaugurated soon.
Constructed at an expense of ₹140 crore, the hospital in Belagavi city is nearing its final stages of completion, with final touches being applied. Director Ashok Kumar Shetty provided an update, mentioning that the formal handover will occur once the requisite fire safety clearance is acquired.
Following its inauguration, the hospital is expected to greatly serve the community, providing specialized departments throughout its levels. On the first floor, departments such as Neurology, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, and Endocrinology will be situated; the second floor will host Gastroenterology, Nephrology, and Surgical Gastroenterology; the third floor will accommodate VIP and General Wards, while the fourth floor will be specifically designated for Operation Theaters.
Additionally, significant improvements have been implemented in the maternity ward, guaranteeing amenities such as hot water provisions for mothers and infants, and maintaining rigorous cleanliness protocols. Director Shetty underscored the significance of cooperation between hospital personnel and patients’ families to optimize operational efficiency.
The main goal of the hospital is to provide top-notch healthcare services to the inhabitants of Belagavi district, with accessibility expanded to neighboring states such as Goa and Maharashtra, thereby enhancing the healthcare infrastructure of the region.
