KPCC working president and PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi urged former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy to stop merely asserting possession of a pen drive containing crucial data and instead transfer it to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to facilitate an inquiry into the issue.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Jarkiholi emphasized that initiating an investigation into the pen drive case was unfeasible unless it was surrendered to the authorities. He criticized Kumaraswamy for making baseless accusations regarding the possession of a pen drive purportedly containing significant data. Jarkiholi urged Kumaraswamy to promptly transfer the pen drive to the Chief Minister, noting their close relationship.
Jarkiholi dismissed the former CM’s assertions about initiating an inquiry into the contents of the pen drive, questioning how an investigation could proceed without knowledge of its contents. He pledged that the state government would conduct a thorough investigation into the matter once provided with all the details regarding the pen drive.
In the meantime, Jarkiholi mentioned that he had a meeting with Home Minister G Parameshwar to discuss the upcoming general election and the potential constituencies where the Congress party could secure victories.
Regarding the request from various senior legislators for additional deputy chief ministers in the government, Jarkiholi noted that this proposal surfaced prior to the Lok Sabha elections in the state, presumably to aid in the electoral process. However, now that the state’s voting phase has concluded, such demands have largely ceased, he remarked.
