A collision between a speeding car and a bike occurred on the National Highway en route to Goa, near the Khanapur railway bridge. Both the bike rider and the car driver succumbed to the accident, while seven others sustained severe injuries.
The car driver lost control of the vehicle after a rear tire burst. As a result, the biker, who was ahead, collided with the bike and died instantly. The car overturned, causing injuries to eight passengers. The driver passed away while being transported to the hospital. The remaining individuals were admitted to various hospitals in Belgaum for treatment.
Khanapur station police carried out a search of the area. According to the police, the identities of the deceased and injured have not been disclosed.
