A fatal road accident occurred near Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi taluk, resulting in the immediate death of a farmer.
The accident involved a collision between a canter vehicle and a tractor transporting coriander leaves on the national highway near Bastawada village. The victim, identified as Mallappa Doddakallannavara (41) from Bastawada village, was fatally injured in the incident while en route to the Belgaum market.
The impact of the collision caused extensive damage to the tractor, scattering spare parts and coriander leaves across the road. Consequently, traffic congestion ensued on the national highway for a brief period.
The Hirebagewadi police promptly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation into the tragic accident.
