In the early hours of Friday, vandals ignited a fire at a Gujari shop in Dohar Galli of Vadagavi. The flames subsequently engulfed four shops, resulting in significant loss of goods. The shops contained old tins, plastic materials, gunny bags, vehicle tires, dube, scrap paper, and similar items, accelerating the rapid spread of the fire.
Despite efforts by awakened Gujari traders, they were unable to extinguish the fire. Firefighters, upon arrival, successfully put out the flames after a three-hour operation.
The police informed that there is significant loss to Gujari traders, and fortunately, no casualties occurred. They mentioned that the fire has been burning for an extended period, making it challenging to bring it under control. The explanation provided was that the Gujari shop contained items prone to causing a fire.
