In Belgaum, Member of Legislative Assembly Vijayananda Kashappanavar and former MLA Anjali Nimbalkar inaugurated the Belgaum Test House, an environmental testing laboratory, on Wednesday. Established by the Belgaum-based Dambal Group, the facility possesses the capability to assess the quality of soil, water, air, and other materials against established standards, enabling the identification of pollution and contamination.
The laboratory, beneficial for industries, domestic applications, agriculture sources, automobiles, and more, is touted as the first of its kind in design, featuring dedicated field staff for sample collection. Dr. Nimbalkar emphasized the uniqueness of the environmental consultancy and laboratory, highlighting its cutting-edge technology and sophisticated, traceable equipment.
The laboratory covers a wide spectrum of analyses, including Ambient Air Quality, Stack Emissions, Indoor Air Quality, Water Quality, Wastewater Quality, Noise Level, Soil Quality, Solid and Hazardous Waste, and Research and Development in Environmental Pollution.
Mr. Kashappanavar expressed optimism about the facility’s potential to bolster industrial development in North Karnataka.
