Two individuals from Kakati village are facing charges for assaulting a police constable on Thursday night. Santosh Bhandari and Shreeshail Logavi allegedly attacked Constable Lateef Mushapure when he attempted to intervene and halt their loud music, which exceeded the permitted hours.
Constable Mushapure’s efforts to advise the organizers to cease the music went unheeded, prompting his response. His presence in the village was in response to emergency calls placed to the helpline number 112 by concerned residents.
The youths, who had set up a pandal and arranged a music system for Waseem Makandar, a local trader celebrating a family wedding, took aggressive action. According to the police, they forcibly took the constable’s stick and proceeded to assault him on the face and neck.
The Kakati Police have officially registered the case, marking another incident involving a clash between law enforcement and individuals violating noise regulations in the village.
