In an incident involving stone pelting, one individual sustained injuries, and two buses suffered damage, leading to the arrest of two suspects by the Yamakandi Police. The arrest followed an episode where two men, identified as 24-year-old Parashurama Naik and 25-year-old Basaraja Shine from Benakanholi in Belgaum District, allegedly threw stones at government buses near Hukkeri Town in Belgaum District, as per reports.
The miscreants targeted moving buses on Thursday night, causing damage to the window panels of two buses. Parashurama Naik and Basaraja Shine, both employed in Goa, were on vacation in their village when the incident occurred, specifically targeting Karnataka and Maharashtra state-owned buses. Notably, a North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) bus with registration number KA42 F962 was among the vehicles damaged. The stone pelting resulted in injuries to a 55-year-old man named Ramesh Chavati, who suffered head injuries.
The buses came under attack on Bengaluru-Pune National Highway 4 near Hukkeri, prompting the intervention of Yamakandi Police, who apprehended the suspects and filed a case in connection with the incident.
